Lord of the Flies
Chapter 8: A Gift from the Darkness
This scene that I picked was the scene where Jack and his hunters killed a pig. It was a vary evil and detailed scene. You here/read how the boys are quickly becoming animals. Jack is obviously the leader of this new group and it seems like all he really cares about like always is hunting and being a leader or a king. Jack doesn’t really care about other people and other things. This scene was just showing how Jack and the hunters are really hooked on hunting and killing. If Ralph didn’t call this meeting and Jack didn’t want to be leader so bad then I don’t think any of this would have happened. But Jack has to be leader or king so when Ralph called that meeting Jack needed to do something about it. Now everyone is on a different side and Jacks team are getting really bad. Jack is always trying to get more people on his side, so that he can have all of the people and Ralph only have piggy. Right now the sides are, on Ralphs side there is Ralph, Piggy, Sam, Eric, and the littluns. On Jacks side there is all the hunters. It doesn’t really seem like jack has a lot but he really does. Also he is living at the coastal rock, which personally I think it’s better then where Ralph, it living.
